Hi, I am Steffen. I build the foundations that platforms and AI run on.
I help companies scale by automating the complex and building foundations that last. My background spans startups and large enterprises, from banking and energy to retail and automotive. I design cloud platforms, automate infrastructure and delivery with Terraform, Terragrunt, Kubernetes and CI/CD across AWS, Azure and GCP, and keep what runs on top reliable, secure and affordable.
Along the way I have worked as team lead, tech lead and project manager, including on data platform projects. I like being the person who can set direction and also build it.
Increasingly, that platform includes AI. I build MCP servers and agentic workflows that connect AI to real systems, with the same care for access, guardrails and reliability as any other production workload.
GroundworkIT is my own company, based in Beringen. The name is the idea: good groundwork makes everything built on top faster and safer. You rarely notice a good foundation, only when one is missing.
